Barnes & Noble: Kids in grades 1-6 who read eight books and submit a Summer Reading Journal by September 3 will get a FREE book.
Books-a-Million: Kids who read any four books from the bookstore’s Summer Reading Adventure Section (in store and online) and write about them in their Summer Reading Adventure Notebooks can exchange their completed Notebooks for a FREE pencil case with pencils.
Chapin Memorial Library: This summer reading program is open to kids who are in grades Kindergarten and up. It’s similar to the Horry County Library program (see below) in that kids can earn prizes by reading, attending events, and completing tasks. Rules vary by age group.The program ends on August 18.

- Register your child (you can register more than one at a time by creating a Family Account.
- Kids can log into their accounts, record their reading, and explore other ways to earn points.
- Kids can also play educational games, complete special missions, and win prizes.
- Their last day to log into their accounts will be August 3.
