Our two local state parks offer numerous programs and events for those looking for free and inexpensive things to do. These programs are perfect for kids who may be interested in marine wildlife and biology.
Many of the programs listed are included in the price of park admission, for some of the programs there is a nominal fee, which is noted on the individual program page. All programs have group size limits. Registration is required for some of the programs and is annotated with an *.
All of the programs are taught by skilled and experienced park rangers.
We’re as excited as you are when we find a great event or deal! But remember -- events can change. Bargains can sell out. Weather can be unpredictable. The location nearest you may decide not to participate. And many venues reserve the right to change prices and hours without notice. Please double-check with the source to make sure an event is still happening or a deal is still good before you go.

Huntington Beach State Park is located in Murrells Inlet.
PARK HOURS: 6 a.m. – 6 p.m., daily (extended to 10 p.m. during Daylight Saving Time)
Atalaya Hours: 9 a.m.-4 p.m., daily (extended to 5 p.m. during Daylight Saving Time) PLEASE NOTE: Atalaya is the venue for many large events throughout the year and may be closed in correspondence to these events. For current information, please contact the park office.
